Has your family or household taken the census yet? Join @GoRichmondSOL this weekend for a 2020 Census event!

When: Saturday, August 15 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm

Where: Miller/Knox Regional Shoreline, 900 Dornan Drive, Richmond — Google map

What’s happening: Contra Costa County census staff will be available to answer questions and guide you in completing the census. You can also do it now, at my2020census.gov. But don’t delay! Census offices are planning to complete their work by the end of September.

Why it matters: From the census website: “The 2020 Census will determine congressional representation, inform hundreds of billions in federal funding every year, and provide data that will impact communities for the next decade.” As one example, census results may be used to direct federal funding to low-income and underserved communities. People have improved access to health care, Medi-Cal, free school lunches, college tuition grants, substance abuse treatment, and much more.

It’s quick and simple. It only takes about 10 minutes to answer approximately 10 questions. Your family or household can take the census online at my2020census.gov.
