Park Rx Day celebrates community health, exercise

The City of Richmond Community Services Department, along with local and regional partners and the National Park Service, is sponsoring National Park Rx Day — Healthy Parks, Healthy People — on Saturday, April 27, 2019. The event will take place from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at JFK Park, located at Cutting & South 41st Street in Richmond (Google map). Enjoy free health screenings provided by Contra Costa Health Services, free fitness activities, food, entertainment, a pop-up bike repair and giveaway, and more! Richmond SOL will be out in force with our famous 50-foot soccer field. Older players can come help set up and assist younger players with small-side games. We’ll also be selling raffle tickets and at 1:00 pm holding the grand prize drawing for several awesome prizes, including a PS4 and the super-secret prize giveaway valued in the thousands of dollars — your chance to win for only the $5 price of a raffle ticket! Bring family and friends, do something good for your health, and support Richmond SOL as we help keep kids and teens in Richmond healthy and active!
